How to check the Android version and build number [Smartphone / Tablet]

You can check the Android version using the same procedure for both smartphones and tablets.

Difference between version and build number
  • Version → Android OS version
  • Build number → Version information for each manufacturer

 Android has its own customization for each model of the basic Android OS. The build number is what manages the customized version.

 Usually, when looking up Android, it's okay if you know your Android version. If you contact the manufacturer, it is good to tell the build number information as a set.

Checking Android version and build number
  • Swipe the top of your smartphone or tablet to open the Settings menu. 
  • Tap the gear icon to display it.
  • After opening the settings screen, scroll to the bottom and select Device info.

 If you have another type of smartphone Than just click on settings app and search "About" and just click on about phone.

You can check your Android version and build number.

 When Android update information is notified by Docomo, au, or SoftBank, this build number is indicated. In rare cases, the Android OS is upgraded, but basically, there are many updates due to bug fixes of the same version.
